About

Hi! I’m Diana. It’s nice to meet you.

I was diagnosed with “essential hypertension” (basically high blood pressure with no clear reason) in my 20s. I have always been curious about how to manage my hypertension without medication and am so grateful you are here to join me on this journey. Right off the bat, I’d like to clarify that I have no issues to using medication to treat hypertension. My numbers fall right between Pre-Hypertension and Stage 1, so my doctors have encouraged me to try non-medication ideas first.

A bit of background about myself. I worked as a physical therapist in a big hospital in the United States for 10 years in which I helped to rehabilitate patients immediately after traumatic injuries, strokes and any other condition that may affect mobility. I do have a lot of medical knowledge from my schooling and work experience, however I’ve had to do a ton of personal research to learn more about high blood pressure. Doctors are very wonderful and intelligent people but also incredibly busy due to the way our healthcare systems are structured in the United States. In an ideal world, more time would be spent on how to manage high blood pressure through lifestyle changes. I definitely don’t know all the answers, but I’m excited to share what I know and what I learned; all with the mission to help both of us live a healthier life.

You’ll find a mixture of information on this website; including basics on hypertension, meal ideas, exercise routines, random observations, and more! In addition, I will often include my journeys through travel and how I accommodate for my high blood pressure and still have fun!

Thanks so much for being here. I’m hopeful you will find this to be a helpful, practical and entertaining place to spend some time.
